This initiative aims to ensure free and fair elections and maintain their purity. The control room serves as an election monitoring mechanism for the following municipal corporations: Thane, Ulhasnagar, Kalyan Dombivli, Bhiwandi Nizampur, Mira-Bhayandar, Vasai Virar, Panvel, Ahilyanagar, Pune, Pimpri Chinchwad, Solapur, Kolhapur, Ichalkaranji, Sangli-Miraj-Kupwad. It will operate while the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) is in effect. The Income Tax Department is committed to curb the misuse of money power during the
upcoming Elections in Maharashtra Municipal Corporations, 2025-26. With a view to ensure free
and fair elections and maintain purity of election, an election monitoring mechanism consisting
of a 24X7 control room has been set up by the Income Tax Department, Pune for the following
municipal corporations:
Thane, Ulhasnagar, Kalyan Dombivli, Bhiwandi Nizampur, Mira-Bhayandar, Vasai Virar, Panvel,
Ahilyanagar, Pune, Pimpri Chinchwad, Solapur, Kolhapur, Ichalkaranji, Sangli-Miraj-Kupwad.
This will be in operation till Model Code of Conduct (MCC) is in force. This is to enable the
conscientious public and the denizens of the state to provide information regarding cash and
