The Tamil Nadu Government issued a gazette notification on July 12, 2023, regarding amendments to the minor mineral concession rules. The Department of Industries, Investment Promotion and Commerce, in accordance with Government Order (Permanent) No. 244 dated December 14, 2022, makes the following amendments:
* In Rule 7(5), "ordinary soil used for filling or leveling in construction work, seashores, roads, railways and buildings" replaces "soil commonly called sawdu."
* In Rule 12, "sawdu" is removed, (a) of sub-rule (2) is removed, (b) in the second limit clause of part (b), "ordinary soil" replaces "soil," and in sub-rule (2-A) (a), "ordinary soil" replaces "soil".
* In Rule 36(1-A)(d), "300 meters" replaces "500 meters".
* In Rule 36-A and 36-B (1), "ordinary soil" replaces "soil" wherever it occurs.
* In Annexure II, under "A. License Fee," in column (2) opposite serial number 4 of column (1) of the table, "ordinary soil" replaces "soil."
S. Krishnan, Additional Chief Secretary to the Government, and N. Arul, Director (General), Department of Tamil Development and Information (Translation) have signed the notification.
