### **Summary of the Integrated Processing Development Scheme (IPDS)**
**Overview and Objective**
The Ministry of Textiles has been implementing the Integrated Processing Development Scheme (IPDS) since the 12th Five-Year Plan (FYP). The primary objective of the scheme is to enhance the global competitiveness of the Indian textile industry by adopting environmentally friendly processing standards and technologies. The scheme focuses on addressing pollution in the textile sector by supporting the establishment of new Common Effluent Treatment Plants (CETPs) and the upgradation of existing CETPs in processing clusters and parks.
**Implementation Status**
Active implementation of the scheme concluded in 2021. Currently, the scheme continues solely to fulfill committed liabilities for ongoing projects. Approved parks under the scheme are utilizing advanced technologies, including Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) and Multi-Effect Evaporators (MEE), to facilitate the recovery of treated water.
**Project Financials and Progress**
As of March 2026, the total cost for approved projects stands at ₹705.2 crore, with the Government of India (GoI) having released ₹213.02 crore in grants.

In order to facilitate the Indian Textile Industry to become globally competitive using environmentally
friendly processing standards and technology, and to address the issues of pollution in the textile
processing sector, the Ministry has been implementing Integrated Processing Development Scheme since
12th FYP to support new Common Effluent Treatment Plants (CETP)/ upgradation of CETPs in existing
processing clusters as well as new processing parks. The scheme was under implementation till 2021; after
that the scheme has been continued to meet committed liabilities only.
The details of the projects approved under the scheme and their present status is as below:

The parks approved under the Scheme are implementing Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) technology.
Another technology being implementing is Multi Effect Evaporator (MEE) which further helps in
recovery of treated water.
