NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 27th May, 2025
S.O. 2354(E).—In pursuance of sub-clause (ii) of clause (b) of sub-section (4) of section 4 of the
Aadhaar (Targeted Delivery of Financial and Other Subsidies, Benefits and Services) Act, 2016, read with
rule 5 of the Aadhaar Authentication for Good Governance (Social Welfare, Innovation, Knowledge)
Rules, 2020, the Ministry of Railways, Railway Board, hereby notifies that the Centre for Railway
Information System (CRIS) be allowed to perform Aadhaar authentication, on voluntary basis, to establish
the identity of ticket-checking staff, crew members and passengers, using Yes/No or eKYC authentication
facility, at the assigned duty station during duty sign on/off before start of and on completion of their duties
or for their monitoring, as the case may be.
