JUDICIAL NOTIFICATION Conferment of Magisterial Powers on certain Revenue Officials (Roc. No. 47123/2023/B7) No. VI(1)/388/2023. No. 123/2023.—In exercise of the powers conferred under Sections 18 and 13 of the Criminal Procedure Code 1973 (Central Act 2 of 1974), the High Court hereby appoints the following (i) 8 Deputy Tahsildars in Tiruvannamalai District (ii) 8 Tahsildars in Chennai District and (iii) 8 Deputy Tahsildars in Madurai District as Special Judicial Magistrates/ Special Metropolitan Magistrates (as the case may be), to undergo Magisterial Training for a period of 120 days, from the date of assumption of charge and confers upon them the ordinary powers conferable under this Code on a Judicial Magistrate to try such cases which were earlier triable and dealt with by an erstwhile Judicial Second Class Magistrate.
