No. 144/2023.—In exercise of powers conferred under Section 13 of the Criminal Procedure Code 1973 (Central
Act 2 of 1974), the High Court hereby appoints the following (i) 8 Deputy Tahsildars in Thanjavur District and
(ii) 8 Deputy Tahsildars in Villupuram District as Special Judicial Magistrates, to undergo Magisterial Training for
a period of 120 days, from the date of assumption of charge and confers upon them the ordinary powers conferable
under this Code on a Judicial Magistrate to try such cases which were earlier triable and dealt with by an erstwhile
Judicial Second Class Magistrate.
