2. The Office of the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Virudhunagar District at Srivilliputtur, Official Receiver, Srivilliputtur,
District Munsif cum Judicial Magistrate, Srivilliputtur, Sattur, Thiruchuli and Judicial Magistrate, Rajapalayam, Srivilliputtur,
Sivakasi, Sattur, Virudhunagar, Aruppukkottai will remain open throughout the vacation and holidays declared above.
3. No plaint or petition except application for grant of copies and batta Memos for service and execution of Process will
be received by the Civil Courts during the Vacation.
4. The Office of Copyist, Process Service and Execution Department shall be kept open throughout the vacation and
that no arrest warrant shall be executed during the vacation. The Office of the other departments shall remain closed.
Arrangements shall, however, be made.
i. for furnishing the Copies and sending Process.
ii. for transmitting the records to the High Court required in pending Proceedings.
iii. for attending all administrative correspondence.
5. In view of the Instructions contained in the Criminal Rules of Practice and Circular Orders and as ordered in
High Court's Circular R.O.C.No.2/64-C-3, dated : 29th April, 1964 applications in urgent Criminal matters should be made
to the High Court. However, urgent applications can also be made to the vacation Sessions Judge, Virudhunagar district at
Srivilliputtur if appointed to hear urgent Criminal applications relating to Virudhunagar District.
6. Under Section 30 of the Tamil Nadu Civil Courts Act as amended by Section 4 of the Tamil Nadu Act 17 of 1959 if
a vacation Civil Judge is appointed for Virudhunagar District. Suits, Appeals and other proceedings of urgent nature will be
received and disposed of by him in terms of the Rules that may be framed in this regard.
Holidays notified hereunder will be observed as holidays all the Courts Functioning in Virudhunagar District.

Note:

2. All Saturdays and Sundays are holidays except those Saturdays which are fixed as working days for the year 2023.
3. The following 10 Saturdays falling on 07.01.2023, 18.02.2023, 04.03.2023, 03.06.2023, 01.07.2023, 05.08.2023,
02.09.2023, 07.10.2023, 04.11.2023 and 02.12.2023 are fixed as working days for all the Subordinate Courts including
Family Courts functioning in the State of Tamil Nadu.
4. Except the above Saturdays, all other Saturdays are holidays for all the Subordinate Courts, except Family Courts.
5. All the Family Courts functioning in the State of Tamil Nadu shall also work on 1st and 3rd Saturdays of every month
except those Saturdays which are declared as Public Holidays. All other Saturdays are declared as holidays.
6. The first two weeks of May 2023 (i.e. from 01.05.2023 to 14.05.2023) are declared as holidays for all the
Family Courts functioning in the State of Tamil Nadu. The Offices of the Family Courts shall function during the said period.

Holidays for District Courts and all other Subordinate Civil Courts including District Munsif Courts in Erode District for the
year 2023 are as follows:-
SUMMER VACATION
The Principal District and Sessions Court, Erode, the I Additional District and Sessions Court, Erode, the II Additional
District and Sessions Court, Erode, the III Additional District and Sessions Court, Erode at Gobichettipalayam, the IV Additional
District and Sessions Court, Erode at Bhavani, the Special District Court (To deal with MCOP Cases), Erode, the Courts of
the Subordinate Judges/Assistant Sessions Judges of Erode, Bhavani, Gobichettipalayam, Sathyamangalam and Perundurai,
the Special Sub Court (To deal with MCOP Cases), Erode, the District Munsifs Courts of Erode, Bhavani, Gobichettipalayam,

Note: As New Year’s Day (01.01.2023), Pongal (15.01.2023), Thaipoosam (05.02.2023) Ramzan (Idu’l Fitr) (22.04.2023),
Muharram (29.07.2023), Vinayakar Chathurthi (17.09.2023) and Deepavali (12.11.2023) fall on Saturdays/Sundays,
these days are not shown in the above list.
The Family Court, Erode shall work on 1st and 3rd Saturdays of every month except those Saturdays which are declared
as Public Holidays. All other Saturdays are declared a holidays.
The first two weeks of May 2023 (i.e. from 01.05.2023 to 14.05.2023) are declared as holidays to the
Family Court functioning in the Erode District. The Offices of the Family Courts shall function during the said period.
The office of the Official Receiver, Erode remain open throughout the Summer Vacation.
No Plaint or Petition except applications for grant of copies and for service and execution of process will be received
during the adjournments.
The offices of the Copyist and Process Service Establishments will be kept open throughout the Summer Vacation.
No arrest warrant will be executed during the Vacation
The Office of the other sections will remain closed. However arrangements shall be made:-
(a) For Functioning the Copyist and Process Service Establishments.
(b) For transmitting records to the High Court for reference in Appeals and revisions.
and
(c) For attending all Administrative Correspondences.
In case a Vacation Civil Judge is appointed by the Government for this District, Urgent Plaints, Appeals and Petitions
in Civil Cases will be received and disposed of by the Vacation Civil Judge of this District in exercise of the powers vested
in him/her under Section 30 of the Central Act III of 1873 as amended by Madras Act of 1959.
