NOTIFICATION The draft of the following rules further to amend the Karnataka Civil Services (Direct Recruitment by Competitive Examination and Selection) (General) Rules, 2006, which the Government of Karnataka proposes to make in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 3 read with section 8 of the Karnataka State Civil Services Act, 1978 (Karnataka Act 14 of 1990) is hereby published as required by clause (a) of sub-section (2) of section (3) of the said Act, for the information of all persons likely to be affected thereby and notice is hereby given that the said draft will be taken into consideration after fifteen days from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette. Any objection or suggestion, which may be received by the State Government from any person with respect to the said draft before the expiry of the period specified above will be considered by the State Government. Title and Commencement.- (1) These rules may be called the Karnataka Civil Services (Direct Recruitment by Competitive Examination and Selection) (General) (Amendment) Rules, 2020. (2) They shall come into force from the date of their final publication in the official Gazette. 2. Amendment of rule 5.- In the Karnataka Civil Services (Direct Recruitment by Competitive Examination and Selection) (General) Rules, 2006, in rule 5, after clause (1), the following proviso shall be inserted, namely:- “Provided that, where the Government is of the opinion that interview or viva-voce need not be conducted in respect of any Group-A or Group-B posts to be selected under these rules, the Government may by notification exempt such category of posts from conducting interview or viva-voce as the case may be.” , before no By Order and in the name of the Governor of Karnataka (GAYATHRI.M.R.)
