NOTIFICATION Whereas the draft of the following rules further to amend the Karnataka Excise (Excise Duties and Fees) Rules, 1968 was published as required by sub-section (1) of Section 71 of the Karnataka Excise Act, 1965 (Karnataka Act 21 of 1966) in Notification No: FD 07 PES 2023, dated: 20.01.2024 in Part-IVA of the Karnataka Gazette (Extraordinary) No.31 dated: 20.01.2024 inviting objections and suggestions from all persons likely to be affected within seven days from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette. And, whereas the said Gazette was made available to the public on 20th January, 2024. And, whereas objections and suggestions received in respect of the said draft by the State Government have been considered. Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 71 of the Karnataka Excise Act, 1965 (Karnataka Act 21 of 1966), the Government of Karnataka hereby makes the following rules, namely:- RULES 1. Title and commencement.- (1) These rules may be called the Karnataka Excise (Excise Duties and Fees) (Amendment) Rules, 2024. Amendment of Schedule-D.- In the Karnataka Excise (Excise Duties and Fees) Rules, 1968, in Schedule-D, for Serial Number II and the entries relating thereto, the following shall be substituted, namely:- Declared price range per case Sl Name of Rate of Additional Excise Duty/Additional Countervailing containing No the Article Duty per Bulk litre 7.8/7.92/12 Bulk litres of Beer II Beer (1) Manufactured in (1) Manufactured in (bottled) Karnataka and when Karnataka: issued to a Distributor (i) when issued to a licensee Licensee under the holding Military Canteen Karnataka Excise (Sale of Licence, Military Canteen Indian and Foreign Stores Bonded Warehouse Liquors) Rules, 1968, for Licence or Border Security the purpose of sale within Force or Para-Military Karnataka but excluding Forces Licences; or the Beer issued to a licensee holding Military (ii) when issued for export to Canteen Licence, Military licensees outside Karnataka Canteen Stores, Bonded but within India by way of Warehouse Licence or sale or stock transfer; Border Security Force or Para-Military Forces Or Licences; (2) Manufactured in other Or States in India and when (2) Manufactured in other imported into Karnataka by a States in India and when Licensee holding the Military imported into Karnataka Canteen Stores Bonded State by a Distributor Warehouse Licence.
