NOTIFICATION Whereas the draft of the Karnataka Excise (Excise Duties and Fees) (Fourth Amendment) Rules, 2024 was published as required by sub-section (1) of section 71 of the Karnataka Excise Act, 1965 (Karnataka Act 21 of 1966) in Notification No. FD 03 PES 2024, dated: 18.06.2024 in Part-IV-A of the Karnataka Gazette (Extra ordinary) No.290, dated: 18.06.2024 inviting objections and suggestions from all persons likely to be effected within seven days from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette. And, whereas the said Gazette was made available to the public on 18th June, 2024. And, whereas objections and suggestions received in this behalf have been considered by the State Government. Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 71 of the Karnataka Excise Act, 1965 (Karnataka Act 21 of 1966) the Government of Karnataka hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Karnataka Excise (Excise Duties and Fees) Rules, 1968, namely:- RULES 1. Title and commencement.- (1) These rules may be called the Karnataka Excise (Excise Duties and Fees) (Fourth Amendment) Rules, 2024. (1)2 (2) They shall come into force with effect from 27th August 2024. 2. Amendment of Schedule-D.– In the Karnataka Excise (Excise Duties and Fees) Rules, 1968’ in Schedule-D, for Serial Number I and the entries relating thereto the following shall be substituted, namely,- “ Sl Name of the Declared price Rate of Additional Excise N Article range per case Duty/Additional Countervailing o containing 8.64/9/12 Bulk Duty per B.L. of 25° UP litres of liquor I Brandy, From To (1) Manufactured (1) Manufactured in Whisky, Gin, in Karnataka and Karnataka: Rum and such when issued to a other liquors, Distributor (i) when issued to a but not Licensee under the licensee holding Military including Beer, Karnataka Excise Canteen Licence, Military Wine, Toddy (Sale of Indian and Canteen Stores Bonded and Fenny Foreign Liquors) Warehouse Licence or Rules, 1968, for Border Security Force or the purpose of sale Para-Military Forces within Karnataka Licences; or but excluding the liquor issued to a (ii) when issued for export licensee holding to licensees outside Military Canteen Karnataka but within India Licence, Military by way of sale or stock Canteen Stores transfer; Bonded Warehouse or Licence or Border Security Force or (2) Manufactured in other Para-Military States in India and when Forces Licences; imported into Karnataka or by a Licensee holding the (2) Manufactured Military Canteen Stores in other States in Bonded Warehouse India and when Licence. imported into Karnataka State by a Distributor Licensee.
