NOTIFICATION Whereas the draft of the following rules further to amend the Karnataka Excise (Lease of the Right of Retail Vend of Liquors) Rules, 1969, was published as required by sub-section (1) of Section 71 of the Karnataka Excise Act, 1965 (Karnataka Act 21 of 1966) in Notification No.FD 3 PES 2023, dated:21.8.2023 in Part-IVA of the Karnataka Gazette (Extraordinary) No.397 dated:21.08.2023 inviting objections and suggestion from all persons likely to be affected within ten days from the date of is publication in the Official Gazette. And, whereas the said Gazette was made available to the public on 21st August 2023. And, whereas objections and suggestions received in respect of the said draft by the State Government have been considered. Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 71 of the Karnataka Excise Act 1965 (Karnataka Act 21 of 1966) the Government of Karnataka hereby make the following rules, namely:- RULES 1. Title and commencement:- (1) These Rules may be called the Karnataka Excise (Lease of the Right of Retail Vend of Liquors) (Amendment) Rules, 2023. (2) They shall come into force from the date of their final publication in the Official Gazette. 2. Amendment of Rule 18:- In the Karnataka Excise (Lease of the Right of Retail Vend of Liquors), Rules, 1969, in Rule 18, in sub-rule 2, in the existing (1)2 proviso, after the words “Kara-Samadhana Scheme–IV”, the words “Kara- Samadhana Scheme – V”, shall be inserted.
