NOTIFICATION Whereas the draft of the Karnataka Excise Services (Recruitment) Rules, 1996, was published as required by clause (a) of sub-section (2) of Section 3 of the Karnataka State Civil Services Act, 1978 (Karnataka Act 14 of 1990) in Notification No. FD 51 EAA 2022, dated:28-03-2023 in Part-IVA of the Karnataka Gazette No.6822, dated:26.04.2023 inviting objections and suggestions from all persons likely to be affected within fifteen days from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette. And, whereas the said Gazette was made available to the public on 26.04.2023. And, whereas objections and suggestions received in respect of the said draft by the State Government have been considered. Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 3 of the Karnataka State Civil Services Act, 1978 (Karnataka Act 14 of 1990) the Government of Karnataka hereby makes the following rules, namely:- RULES 1. Title and commencement.- (1) These rules may be called the Karnataka Excise Services (Recruitment) (Amendment) Rules, 2023. (2) They shall come into force from the date of their final publication in the Official Gazette. (1)R.N.I. No. KARBIL/2001/47147 POSTAL REGN. Amendment of schedule.- In the schedule to the Karnataka Excise Services (Recruitment) Rules, 1996,- (1) for the category of post of ‘Excise Head Guard’ in serial number 16 and entries relating thereto, the following shall be substituted, namely:- 16 Excise Head 831 By Promotion from the 1. A Pass in 10th Constable cadre of Excise Constable standard (Men) and Excise Constable Examination or (Rs. 23500 - 47650) (Women) on the basis of possess an equivalent combined seniority; Qualification; and Seniority being determined 2. Must have put in a by treating a person service of not less holding a post carrying a than 5 years in the higher scale of pay, as cadre of Excise senior to a person holding a Constable (Men) or post carrying a lower scale Excise Constable of pay. Seniority interse (Women). among persons holding a post carrying the same scale of pay being determined on the basis of length of service in respective cadres and seniority interse among persons in a cadre being maintained. (2) in serial number 17, In column 2, for the words “Excise Guard (Men)”, the words “Excise Constable (Men)”, shall be substituted; and (3) in serial number 17-A, In column 2, for the words “Excise Guard (Women), the words “Excise Constable (Women)”, shall be substituted.
