Title and Commencement :- 1) These rules may be called the Karnataka Government (Allocation of Business) (Amendment) Rules, 2023. 2) They shall come into force from the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 2. Amendment of Schedule V:- In the Karnataka Government (Allocation of Business) Rules, 1977, (hereinafter referred to as the said rules), in SCHEDULE-V, (i) for the heading “EDUCATION DEPARTMENT” the heading “DEPARTMENT OF SCHOOL EDUCATION AND LITERACY” shall be substituted. (ii) the sub-headings “I. Higher Education” and “K. National Cadet Corps” and entries relating thereto shall be omitted. (iii) in the sub-headings “C. Codes and Manuals and D. Recruitment rules and Appointments” for the words “Education Department” wherever they occur, the words “Department of School Education and Literacy” shall be substituted. 3. Insertion of New Schedule VA: - After Schedule V of the said rules, the following new schedule shall be inserted, namely, - SCHEDULE - VA DEPARTMENT OF HIGHER EDUCATION A. Higher Education: 1. Collegiate Education including composite Degree Colleges. 2. Technical Education: (a) Art Educational Institutions including the Chamarajendra Technical Institute. (b) Art institutions 3. Karnataka State Universities Act except matters relating to Medical Education. 4.
