Building, Bengaluru, Date:15.06.2024 NOTIFICATION Whereas, the draft of the Karnataka Motor Vehicles (Conditions for Vehicles engaged in Transport of School Children) (Amendment) Rules, 2024 was published in Notification No. TD 05 TDR 2024, dated:16.03.2024 in Part-IVA No.193 of Karnataka Extraordinary Gazette dated:16.03.2024 hereby inviting objections or suggestions from all the persons likely to be affected thereby, within thirty days from the date of its publication in the official Gazette. Whereas, the said Gazette was made available to public on 16.03.2024. And whereas any objection or suggestion are not received in this behalf. Now, therefore in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of section 96 read with section 212 of the Motor Vehicles Act 1988, (Central Act 59 of 1988) the Government of Karnataka hereby makes the following rules, namely; RULES 1. Title and Commencement.- (1) These rules may be called the Karnataka Motor Vehicles (Conditions for Vehicles engaged in Transport of School Children) (Amendment) Rules, 2024 (2) They shall come into force from the date of their final publication in the Official Gazette. 2. Insertion of new rule 4A.- In the Karnataka Motor Vehicles (Conditions for Vehicles engaged in Transport of School Children) Rules, 2012, after rule 4, the following shall be inserted, namely:- (1)R.N.I. No. KARBIL/2001/47147 POSTAL REGN. No. RNP/KA/BGS/2202/2017-19 Licensed to post without prepayment WPP No. 297 2 4A. Registration of vehicle as school cab.- The Owner or Driver of the vehicle engaged in transportation of school children shall obtain a letter from the Head of the school or a letter from the parents which consists of the details mentioned in Annexure below and produce the same before the Registering Authority for Registration or alteration of the said vehicle as a school cab. The Committee referred in rule 4 shall hold meetings with drivers, parents to take action as per rule 4 of these rules. Annexure Vehicles Details Sl. No. Details Required Particulars 1.
