NOTIFICATION-III The draft of the following rules further to amend the Karnataka Excise (Excise Duties and Fees) Rules, 1968, which the Government of Karnataka proposes to make in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 71 of the Karnataka Excise Act, 1965 (Karnataka Act 21 of 1966) is hereby published as required by sub-section (1) of section 71 of said Act for the information of all persons likely to be affected thereby and notice is hereby given that the said draft will be taken into consideration after thirty days from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette. Any objection or suggestion which may be received by the State Government from any person with respect to the said draft before the expiry of the period specified above will be considered by the State Government. The objections or suggestions may be addressed to the Additional Chief Secretary to Government, Finance Department, VidhanaSoudha, Bengaluru - 01. DRAFT RULES 1. Title and commencement:- (1) These rules may be called the Karnataka Excise (Excise Duties and Fees) (Amendment) Rules, 2022. (2) They shall come into force from the date of their final publication in the official Gazette. (1)2 2. Amendment of rule 2-AB:-In the Karnataka Excise (Excise Duties and Fees) Rules, 1968, (hereinafter referred to as the ‘said rules’) in rule 2-AB, in clause (i), for the word “Brewery”, the words “Brewery or Craft brewery” shall be substituted. 3. Amendment of rule 2-AE:-In rule 2-AE of the said rules;- (1) in sub-rule (1), – (i) for the words “the brewery licensee”, the words “the brewery licensee or the Craft brewery licensee”, shall be substituted. (ii) for the words “Distillery, Brewery or Winery licensee”, the words “Distillery, Brewery, Craft brewery or Winery licensee” shall be substituted: and (iii) for the words “Distillery or Brewery or Winery or Distributor licensee”, the words “Distillery or Brewery or Craft brewery or Winery or Distributor licensee” shall be substituted. (2) in sub-rule (2), – (i) for the words “Distillery, Brewery, Winery or a distributor licensee”, the words “Distillery, Brewery, Craft brewery, Winery or a distributor licensee” shall be substituted; and (ii) in the existing proviso, for the words“Distillery/Brewery/Winery or Distributor licensee”, the words “Distillery/Brewery/ Craft brewery/Winery or Distributor licensee”, shall be substituted. (3) in sub-rule (3), – (i) for the words “Distillery, Brewery, Winery or a Distributor licensee”, the words “Distillery, Brewery, Craft brewery, Winery or a Distributor licensee” shall be substituted; (ii) under the explanation, in the proviso, for the words“Breweries”, the words “Breweries or Craft Breweries” shall be substituted. 4. Amendment of rule 2-AF:-In rule 2-AF of the said rules;- (1) in sub-rule (1),- (i) for the words “Distillery licensee or the brewery licensee or theWinery licensee or a Distributor licensee”, the words “Distillery Licensee or the brewery licensee orR.N.I. No. KARBIL/2001/47147 POSTAL REGN. No. RNP/KA/BGS/2202/2017-19 Licensed to post without prepayment WPP No. 297 3 the Craft brewery licensee or the Winery licensee or a Distributor licensee” shall be substituted. (ii) for the words “Distillery/Brewery or Winery”, the words “Distillery/Brewery/Craft Brewery or Winery” shall be substituted. (2) in sub-rule (2) for the words “Distillery, Brewery, Winery or Distributor licensee”, the words “Distillery, Brewery, Craft Brewery, Winery or Distributor licensee”, shall be substituted. (3) in sub-rule (3), for the words “Distillery/Brewery/Winery or Distributor licensee”, the words “Distillery/Brewery/Craft brewery/Winery or Distributor licensee”, shall be substituted. 5. Amendment of Form DP:-In Form DP of the said rules, for the word“Brewery”, wherever it occurs, the words “Brewery/Craft brewery”, shall be substituted. 6. Amendment of Form DRP:-In Form DRP of the said rules, for the word “Brewery”, wherever it occurs, the words “Brewery/Craft Brewery”, shall be substituted. 7. Amendment of Form MRP:-In Form MRP of the said rules, for theword “Brewery”, wherever it occurs, the words “Brewery/Craft brewery”, shall be substituted. 8. Amendment of Form RMRP:-In Form RMRP of the said rules, for the word “Brewery”, wherever it occurs, the words “Brewery/Craft brewery”, shall be substituted.
