ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), North Goa, under the aegis of ICAR–Central Coastal
Agricultural Research Institute, Goa, organized an awareness campaign and Kisan Gosthi on
Integrated Nutrient Management at Siminarwada-Chodan, Tiswadi taluka, on April 23, 2026.
The programme was conducted as part of the ongoing Intensive Awareness Campaign on
Adoption of Science-Based Nutrient and Other Input Management.
The programme focused on creating awareness among farmers about the importance of
balanced and scientific nutrient management for improving soil health, enhancing crop
productivity, and promoting sustainable agricultural practices.
The participants were sensitized on key aspects such as soil testing, judicious use of fertilizers,
integration of organic and inorganic nutrient sources, and efficient input management
practices.The farmers were also guided on the importance of adopting need-based fertilizer
application, use of organic manures, biofertilizers, green manuring, and soil health management
practices to improve nutrient use efficiency and reduce excessive dependence on chemical
fertilizers.The interactive session, attended by 16 participants, provided an opportunity to the farmers to
share their field-level challenges and gain practical insights into nutrient management strategies
suited to local agro-climatic conditions. The programme was coordinated by Dr. Nivya K. R.,
