This is a supplement to Part III-Section 1(a) of the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette, issue number 9, published on Wednesday, February 28, 2018. It contains Tamil translations of government announcements from the Department of Labour and Employment.
The announcement pertains to amendments to the Tamil Nadu Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Rules of 1975, under the authority granted by Section 35 of the Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Act of 1970 (Central Act 37/1970). The governor of Tamil Nadu makes the following amendments, which have already been published as required by subsection (1) of Section 35 of the aforementioned Act:
**(1) Amendment to Rule 17:**
* **(a)** In sub-rule (2), after "through treasury challan," add "or through online payment through the website of the Directorate of Industrial Safety and Health."
* **(b)** Replace sub-rule (3) with: "(3) Every application mentioned in sub-rule (1) shall be submitted directly to the Directorate of Industrial Safety and Health website or to the Registration Officer or sent to him by registered post."
**(2) Amendment to Rule 21:**
* **(a)** Replace sub-rule (3) with: "(3) Every application mentioned in sub-rule (1) shall be submitted directly to the Directorate of Industrial Safety and Health website or to the licensing authority or sent to him by registered post."
* **(b)** In sub-rule (5), after "through treasury challan," add "or through online payment through the website of the Directorate of Industrial Safety and Health."
**(3) Amendment to Rule 29:**
* Add the following sub-rule after sub-rule (2): "(2A) Every application mentioned in sub-rule (2) shall be submitted directly to the Directorate of Industrial Safety and Health website or to the licensing authority or sent to him by registered post; However, a certificate for the payment of the appropriate fee, either by treasury challan or through online payment through the website of the Directorate of Industrial Safety and Health, shall be enclosed with such application."
