Ms. No. 10, Public Works (D1), 20th January 2017, ¬î 7, ¶¡ºA, F¼õœÀõ˜ ݇´-2048.] No. SRO B-8/2017.—In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to Article 309 of the Constitution of India, the Governor of Tamil Nadu hereby makes the following amendment to the Special Rules for the Tamil Nadu Engineering Subordinate Service (Section 8 in Volume III of the Tamil Nadu Services Manual, 2016). 2. The amendment hereby made shall come into force with effect on and from the 20-1-2017. AMENDMENT In the said Special Rules, in Part II, under the heading "Branch I-Engineering Branch", in Schedule II referred to in rule 6, for the entries in column (2), against the entries "Special Grade Draughting Officer, Senior Draughting Officer, Draughting Officer and Junior Draughting Officer" in column (1) thereof, the following entries shall be substituted, namely:- "(i)Diploma in Civil Engineering awarded by the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Tamil Nadu; or (ii) Diploma in Architectural Assistantship awarded by the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Tamil Nadu: Provided that the qualifications specified above shall not be necessary for appointment as Junior Draughting Officers, by promotion from the category of Assistant Draughtsman, who have put in service for a period of not less than five years in that category: Provided further that the Assistant Draughtsmen so appointed as Junior Draughting Officers shall not be eligible for further promotion, unless they possess the qualifications specified above".
