Lending and Deposit Rates of Scheduled Commercial Banks – January 2026
Data on lending and deposit rates of scheduled commercial banks (SCBs) (excluding
regional rural banks and small finance banks) received during the month of January 2026
are set out in Tables 1 to 7.
Highlights:
Lending Rates:
• The weighted average lending rate (WALR) on fresh rupee loans of SCBs stood at
8.28 per cent in December 2025 (8.71 per cent in November 2025).
• The WALR on outstanding rupee loans of SCBs declined to 9.06 per cent in
December 2025 from 9.21 per cent in November 2025.
