Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology Monthly Achievements for the month of March, 2024 The significant developments pertaining to Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology for the month of March, 2024 are as given below:
1. Electronics Manufacturing
(i) Development of Semiconductors and Display Manufacturing Ecosystem in India Applications received under the Programme for Development of Semiconductors and Display Manufacturing Ecosystem in India includes seven (7) applications for setting up semiconductor Fabs in India, three (3) applications for setting up Display Fabs in India, Sixteen (16) applications for setting up compound and ATMP facilities in India.
Following, applications has been approved under the scheme: a) One application has been approved under the Assembly, Testing, Marking and Packaging (ATMP) scheme b) One application for providing fiscal support for setting up a Semiconductor Fab facility in India.
c) Two applications for providing fiscal support for setting up an Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) facility in India Further, Eleven (11) applications have been approved under the Design Linked Incentive Scheme.
(ii) Scheme for Promotion of Manufacturing of Electronic Components and Semiconductors (SPECS) • As on March, 2024, 49 applications have been approved with proposed investment of ₹ 14,121 crore and committed incentive of ₹ 1,978 crore • Disbursement status: As on March 2024, ₹ 485 crore has been disbursed to
(12) applicants.
(iii) Modified Special Incentives Package Scheme (M-SIPS) • As on 31st March, 2024, 320 applications with proposed investment of ₹ 85,448 crore are under consideration. Out of these 320 applications, 316 applications with proposed investment of approximately ₹ 83,247 crores have been approved, 3 applications with proposed investment of approximately ₹ 192 crores have been recommended by the Appraisal Committee for approval, 1 application with proposed investment of ₹ 2,009 crore is under appraisal.• As on 31st March, 2024, incentives of ₹ 2,375.89 crores have been released to 140 applicants.
(iv) Electronics Manufacturing Clusters (EMC) 2.0 Scheme: • EMC 2.0 Scheme was notified on 01.04.2020 to provide financial assistance for setting up of both EMC projects and Common Facility Centers (CFCs) across the country. The scheme was open for receipt of applications up to March, 2024 with disbursement period up to March, 2028.
• Under the scheme, 15 applications for setting up of EMC projects and 5 applications for setting up of Common Facility Centers (CFCs) and measuring an area of 5,183.80 acres with proposed project cost of ₹ 7,720.01 crores including Central Financial assistance of ₹ 3,555.62 crores have been received.
• 6 applications with project cost of ₹ 2,323.81 crore including Central financial assistance of ₹ 1,111.37 crores have been accorded approval. Another 1 application has been recommended for approval. • An amount of ₹ 184.91 crore has been released towards execution of scheme & project therein.
2. Pradhan Mantri Gramin Digital Saksharta Abhiyan (PMGDISHA) As on 31st March 2024, ₹ 1,903.92 crore has been released to CSC-SPV for implementation of the Scheme. A total of around 7.42 crore candidates have been enrolled and 6.45 crore have been trained, out of which 4.83 crore candidates have been certified under the PMGDISHA Scheme. The PMGDISHA scheme has been officially concluded on 31.03.2024.
3. Minimum Government, Maximum Governance
(i). Jeevan Pramaan: A total of 3,45,262 Digital Life Certificates (DLCs) have been generated in the month of March 2024.
(ii). MyGov: Till March 2024, MyGov has 1001 discussion themes and 1,581 tasks. Around 4.73 crore people have registered on the Platform.
(iii). Open Government Data Platform (OGD) India: Till March 2024, more than
6.23 lakh resources have been contributed under 13,090 catalogs and 3,138 Visualizations and 2,28,818 Datasets APIs have been created.
