Ministry of Education MGAHV, Wardha Organises Special Lecture on "Education and Value Consciousness" as Part of Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Samagam 2026 प्रव तथ: 04 AUG 2026 4:22PM by PIB Mumbai Nagpur, 4 August 2026 The Department of Gandhi and Peace Studies, Mahatma Gandhi Antarrashtriya Hindi Vishwavidyalaya (MGAHV), Wardha, organised a special lecture on "Education and Value Consciousness" as part of the Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Samagam 2026, commemorating six years of the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The programme was organised in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. Delivering the keynote address, Sushma Sharma, Director, Anand Niketan School, Sevagram, said that NEP 2020 has introduced significant qualitative and structural reforms in higher education by making it more inclusive, multidisciplinary and student-centric. She highlighted experiential learning, project-based education and community engagement as key components for nurturing creativity, leadership, decision-making abilities and social responsibility among students. Emphasising the importance of the Indian knowledge system, multilingual education, environmental awareness, sustainable development and innovation- driven learning, Sharma said higher educational institutions should serve as a bridge between local community needs and national development goals. During the interactive session, participants deliberated on multidisciplinary education, research and innovation, industry-academia collaboration, skill development and enhancing students' employability.Presiding over the programme, Dr. Rakesh Kumar Mishra, Head, Department of Gandhi and Peace Studies, said education should not only impart knowledge but also instil ethical values, discipline, empathy and social responsibility to nurture responsible citizens committed to nation-building. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Prof. Manoj Kumar Rai, former Head of the Department.
