Posted On: 26 SEP 2026 10:26AM by PIB Delhi The Special Campaign 6 launched by the Government, with Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances as the nodal department, has gained significant momentum in its preparatory phase. The Special Campaign 6 will enter the implementation phase from 2nd October to 31st October 2026, preceded by Preparatory Phase from 16th September, 2026 to 30th September, 2026.

During this phase, Ministries/Departments, nominated nodal officers in each of their campaign offices in attached / subordinate offices/ PSUs / autonomous organizations and trained them on their roles in the campaign. It involved various activities such as mobilizing field functionaries, identifying pending references, finalizing the list of offices for Swachhata Campaign, assessing the volume of electronic waste to be disposed and finalizing the procedures for their disposal. They also undertook plans for enhancement of office spaces procedures for eWaste disposal, waste to wealth, enhancement of office spaces record management practices for weeding of records and preservation of historical records.

The progress of Special Campaign 6 is monitored through a dedicated web-portal (https://scdpm.nic.in/Sp ecialCampaign6). All Ministries/Departments are to upload targets for the Preparatory phase of the Campaign on the Special Campaign 6 web portal. The preparatory phase began on 16th September 2026.

The second meeting with Nodal Officers of Special Campaign 6 for Swachhata and Disposal of Pending Matters was held under the chairpersonship of the Secretary, DARPG, Smt. Nivedita Shukla Verma, to review the preparatory phase activities. The meeting was attended by 40+ senior officers in person and 800+ officers virtually from over 500 locations, representing 84 Ministries/Departments, their PSUs and field offices. During the meeting, Shri Puneet Yadav, Additional Secretary, DARPG, presented the progress of the ongoing Campaign.Several Ministries/Departments, including Department of Posts, Department of Financial Services, Department of Defence Production, Department of Military Affairs, Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Ministry of Railways, Ministry of External Affairs, Ministry of Mines, Central Board of Direct Taxes and Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change (MoEFCC), showcased key achievements from Special Campaign 5 and outlined their plans for Special Campaign 6.

Secretary, DARPG, appreciated the efforts of the officials of Ministries/Departments and encouraged them to ensure that Special Campaign 6 reaches all PSUs, Autonomous Bodies and field offices, making it the biggest Campaign ever.Large scale awareness generation and campaign advocacy is resorted through electronic, print and social media and till date, 1,039 tweets under the #SpecialCampaign6 and 54 PIB statements have been issued indicating widespread participation in Special campaign 6. A collation of best practices under the Special Campaign 6 would be brought out by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances as part of Good Governance Week 2026 activities.
