## Summary of the Ministry of Heavy Industries' Swachhata Pakhwada 2025 Observance

An essay competition on the theme of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan was also held for MHI officers and officials. On August 29th, 2025, Joint Secretary Shri Vijay Mittal felicitated the Ministry's sanitation workers (Safai Mitras) with gifts in recognition of their service.
Several CPSEs under MHI actively participated in Swachhata Pakhwada. Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) organized awareness campaigns, pledge-taking ceremonies, and cleanliness drives across its various units, including Ranipet, Tiruchy, Hyderabad, Bhopal, and Delhi. The Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI) successfully observed Swachhata Pakhwada from 16 to 31 August
2025, as part of the Government of India’s Swachh Bharat Mission. The mission promotes cleanliness,
hygiene, and sustainability across the nation. The two-week campaign followed the Calendar of Swachhata
Pakhwada 2025 issued by the Government of India. This activity showed MHI’s commitment to make
cleanliness a shared duty and create a sustainable work environment.
The observance started with a pledge-taking ceremony on cleanliness by the officers and officials of MHI on

Paper Machine crew in the Dryer Section basement and the Paper Machine back-side area, highlighting focus
