Ministry of Mines Ministry of Mines Leads Efforts for a Cleaner and Greener India under Swachhata Hi Seva 2025 Posted On: 03 OCT 2025 6:47PM by PIB Delhi The Ministry of Mines, along with its field organisations, actively participated in the Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) Campaign 2025, adopting a ‘Whole of Government’ approach and achieving notable success in promoting cleanliness, transforming Cleanliness Target Units (CTUs), and recognising the vital contributions of Safai Mitras. A total of 5,853 participants took part in the campaign, and 98 CTUs were transformed, highlighting the Ministry’s commitment to maintaining cleanliness and sustainability across its offices. Shri Piyush Goyal, Secretary, Ministry of Mines, led the Swachhata Pledge at Khanij Kaksh, Shastri Bhawan, along with senior officials and employees, reiterating the Ministry’s resolve to promote cleanliness and sustainable practices. As part of the campaign, senior officers and staff of the Ministry formed a human chain between India Gate and Shastri Bhawan, spreading the message of collective responsibility for a cleaner and greener future. In recognition of their vital contribution, the Ministry organised a felicitation programme for Safai Mitras at the Ministry premises. Smt. Farida M. Naik, Joint Secretary (Mines), and Shri Vivek Kumar Sharma, Director (Mines), honoured the sanitation workers for their dedicated service. Shoes were distributed as a mark of appreciation, and a health camp was organised for Safai Mitras and employees of the Ministry. Under the nationwide call of ‘Ek Din, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath’, Shri Piyush Goyal, along with senior officials, also participated in a cleanliness drive at Shastri Bhawan, New Delhi, promoting collective responsibility towards hygiene and sustainability. Shri G. Kishan Reddy, Union Minister of Coal & Mines, inaugurated Waste to Wealth Models at the Geological Survey of India (GSI), Southern Region, Hyderabad. He emphasised the importance of innovation-driven approaches to convert waste into valuable resources and appreciated the efforts of sanitation workers of GHMC and GSI. On this occasion, sanitation kits were distributed to acknowledge their contributions. As part of Swachhotsav 2025, the campaign witnessed enthusiastic participation from the Ministry’s workforce, reflecting solidarity and commitment towards achieving the objectives of Swachhata Hi Seva 2025.
