On the occasion of the 77th Republic Day parade in New Delhi, this year the Ministry of Panchayati Raj’s
tableau will highlight the SVAMITVA Scheme that is in alignment with the overarching theme of the
Republic Day 2026 celebrations ‘Samriddhi ka Mantra: Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ and Swatantrata ka Mantra:
Vande Mataram’. The tableau of the Ministry of Panchayati Raj presents the transformative impact of the
SVAMITVA (Survey of Villages and Mapping with Improvised Technology in Village Areas) Scheme,
launched by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on 24th April 2020. It highlights how legal ownership of
residential property in rural areas forms the foundation of security, dignity and self-reliance for citizens,
Panchayats and the nation.At the front, a well-built rural house resting on an open palm symbolizes assurance and stability achieved
through property ownership. The palm, depicted as a woman’s hand adorned with aalta, signifies women’s
dignity and their rightful place in household ownership. A traditional toran at the entrance denotes
prosperity, while prominently placed house keys represent lawful possession and empowerment under
