Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways Mormugao Port Authority Celebrates 80th Independence Day with Patriotic Fervour प्रव तथ: 15 AUG 2026 5:24PM by PIB Mumbai Goa, August 15, 2026: Mormugao Port Authority (MPA) celebrated the 80th Independence Day with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm under the themes ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ and ‘My India My Pride’, bringing together the entire port community in a spirit of national pride. The celebrations began with a soulful rendition of ‘Vande Mataram’, followed by the hoisting of the National Flag by Dr. N. Vinodkumar, Chairperson, Mormugao Port Authority. Deputy Chairperson Shri Vinayaka Rao, Heads of Departments, officers, employees, CISF personnel, Fire Brigade staff and students were present on the occasion.A smartly presented Guard of Honour by the CISF Unit and MPA Fire Brigade added to the solemnity of the occasion and reflected the discipline and dedication of those serving at the port.Best Employee Awards were presented to MPA officials, while special awards were also given to CISF personnel in recognition of their dedicated service and valuable contribution to the Port. The celebrations also featured vibrant cultural performances by students of Deepvihar Primary and Secondary School and Port officials. The performances showcased India’s rich cultural heritage and added to the patriotic atmosphere.
