The Law (A) Department Sf/Sc NOTIFICATION Where as the term of the Special Officers of 98 Municipalities and 13 Municipal Corporations in the state of Andhra Pradesh is going to expire by 30.3.2012. And whereas, Government is of the opinion that it is not possible to hold ordinary election to the said Municipal Corporations and Municipalities in accordance with the provisions of the Andhra Pradesh Municipalities Act, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Act, Vijayawada Municipal Corporation and Andhra Pradesh Municipal Corporations Act due to the following reasons: (1) Upgradation of certain Gram Panchayats into Nagar Panchayats / Municipalities, Upgradation of Municipality into Municipal Corporation, inclusion of certain Gram Panchayats into Urban Local Bodies; (2) Identification of Backward Class voters as per 2012 Electoral Rolls is underway for reservation of seats for Backward classes; and (3) non Publication of final Census 2011 data by the Registrar General of Census, Government of India which is required for reservation of seats for Scheduled Castes and Schedule Tribes. Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by the provisio to sub- section (1) of Section 62-A of the Andhra Pradesh Municipalities Act, 1965, Section 70-G of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Act, 1956, Section 9 of the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation Act, 1981 and Sections 14 and 17 of the Andhra Pradesh Municipal Corporation Act, 1994 read with Section 70-G of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporations Act, 1956 the Governor of Andhra Pradesh hereby extends the term of the Special Officers appointed in G.O.Ms.No. 424 and 425, MA & UD Department, dated: 29.9.2010, G.O.Ms.No. 469, MA & UD Department, dated: 26.10.2010, G.O.Ms.No. 478, MA & UD Department, dated: 04.11.2010, G.O.Ms.No. 42, MA & UD Department, dated: 25.01.2011, G.O.Ms.No. 119, MA & UD Department, dated: 30.3.2011, G.O.Ms.No. 121, MA & UD Department, dated: 31.03.2011, G.O.Ms.No. 195, MA & UD Department, dated: 28.5.2011, G.O.Ms.No. 281, MA & UD Department, dated: 19.7.2011, G.O.Ms.No. 346, MA & UD Department, dated: 22.08.2011 and G.O.Ms.No. 453, MA & UD Department, dated: 28.9.2011 G.O.Ms.No. 454, MA & UD Department, Dated:28.09.2011 for a period of 6 (six) months with effect from 30.3.2012 or until the elected members come into office whichever is earlier.
