(ii) उपजनयम (1क) में िसू रे परंतुक के पश्चात ्जनम्नजलजखत परंतुक अतं ःस्ट्थाजपत दकया िाएगा, अथागत् :- “परंत ु यह और दक 1 अप्रलै , 2025 को और उसके पश्चात ् जवजनर्मगत एम1 श्रेणी के यानों म ें दिट की गई सुरक्षा पेटी संयोिनों और सुरक्षा पेटी एन्द्करेि की जवजिजष्टया ंक्रमिः आईएस 15140:2018 और आईएस 15139:2002 मानकों के अनुरुप होंगी : परंतु यह और दक 1 अप्रलै , 2025 को और उसके पश्चात् जवजनर्मगत एम1 श्रणे ी के यानों में सुरक्षा पेरटयों और रोक प्रणाजलयों का प्रजतष्ठापन आईएस 16694:2018 मानकों के अनुरुप होगा ।”; (iii) उपजनयम (9) और उपजनयम (10) में “एआईएस-145-2017” अक्षरों और अंकों के स्ट्थान पर “एआईएस- 145-2018” अक्षर और अंक रखे िाएंगे ; (iv) उपजनयम (9) म ेंजनम्नजलजखत परंतुक अंतःस्ट्थाजपत दकया िाएगा, अथागत् :- “परंत ु 1 अप्रैल, 2025 को और उसके पश्चात् जवजनर्मगत एम1 श्रेणी के यान में एआईएस-145-2018 के अनुसार सभी अगली और जपछली सीटों में सुरक्षा पेटी अनुस्ट्मारक की अपेक्षाओं को परू ा करेंगे ।” [ िा. सं. आरटी-11036/15/2022-एमवीएल] महमूि अहमि, अपर सजचव रटप्पण.- मलू जनयम भारत के रािपत्र, असाधारण, भाग II, खंड 3, उपखडं (i) म ें अजधसूचना सं. सा.का.जन. 590(अ), तारीख 2 िून,1989 द्वारा प्रकाजित दकए गए थ े और अंजतम संिोधन सा.का.जन. सं. 407(अ), तारीख 15 िुलाई, 2024 द्वारा दकया गया ।[भाग II—खण् ड 3(i)] भारत का रािपत्र : असाधारण 3 MINISTRY OF ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 14th August, 2024 G.S.R. 514(E).—WHEREAS, the draft rules to amend the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989, were published, as required by sub-section (1) of section 212 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 (59 of 1988), vide notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways number G.S.R. 179(E), dated the 12th March, 2024, in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part-II, Section 3, Sub-section (i), inviting objections and suggestions from all persons likely to be affected thereby before the expiry of the period of thirty days from the date on which copies of the official Gazette containing the said notification were made available to the public; AND WHEREAS, copies of the said Gazette containing the said notification were made available to the public on the 12th March, 2024; AND WHEREAS, no objections and suggestions were received from the public in respect of the said draft rules; NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 110 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 (59 of 1988), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989, namely:- 1. Short Title and commencement.-(1) These rules may be called the Central Motor Vehicles (Tenth Amendment) Rules, 2024. (2) Save as otherwise provided in these rules, they shall come into force on the date of publication in the Official Gazette. 2. In the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989 (hereinafter referred to as the said rules), in rule 125- (i) in sub-rule (1) after the second proviso, the following shall be inserted, namely:– “Provided also that safety belt assemblies and safety belt anchorages, fitted on vehicles of categories M1 and L7 manufactured on and after the 1st day of April 2025, shall conform to IS 15140:2018 and IS 15139:2002 standards, respectively. Provided also that safety belt assemblies and safety belt anchorages, fitted on vehicles of categories M2, M3 and N manufactured on and after the 1st day of April 2026, shall conform to IS 15140:2018 and IS 15139:2002 standards, respectively. Provided also that the installation of safety belts and restraint systems on vehicles of categories M1 and L7 manufactured on and after the 1st day of April 2025 and vehicles of categories M2, M3 and N manufactured on and after the 1st day of April 2026 shall conform to IS 16694:2018."; (ii) in sub-rule (1A), after the second proviso, the following proviso shall be inserted, namely:- “Provided further that for motor vehicles of category M1 manufactured on and after the 1st day of April 2025, the specifications of safety belt assemblies and safety belt anchorages in motor vehicles shall conform to IS 15140:2018 and IS 15139:2002 standards, respectively. Provided further that the installation of safety belts and restraint systems on vehicles of M1 category manufactured on and after the 1st day of April 2025 shall conform to IS16694:2018." (iii) in sub-rules (9) and (10) for the letters and figures “AIS-145-2017”, the letters and figures “AIS-145-2018” shall be substituted; (iv) in sub-rule (9) the following proviso shall be inserted, namely:- “Provided that the vehicles of category M1, manufactured on and after the 1st day of April 2025, shall meet the requirement of safety belt reminder for all front facing rear seats as per AIS-145-2018.” [ F.No.RT-11036/15/2022-MVL] Mahmood Ahmed, Addl.
