Short Title and commencement.-(1) These rules may be called the Central Motor Vehicles (………….. Amendment) Rules, 2024. (2) Save as otherwise provided in these rules, they shall come into force on the date of their final publication in the Official Gazette. 2. In the Central Motor Vehicle Rules, 1989, after rule 125-N following rule 125-O shall be inserted namely: - “125-O. Safety Requirements for Electric Power Train Construction Equipment Vehicles. – On and after [1st October 2024], Construction Equipment Vehicles fitted with Electric Power Train shall meet requirements as specified in AIS- 174, till the corresponding BIS specifications are notified under the Bureau of Indian Standard Act, 2016 (11 of 2016).” [F.
