अत:, अब केन्द रीय सरकार मयार यान अजधजनयम, 1988 (1988 का 59) की धारा 110 द्वारा प्रदत् त िजत यस का
प्रययग करते हुए, केन्द रीय मयार यान जनयम, 1989 का और सिं यधन करने के जलए जन न जलजखत जनयम बनाती ह, अथागत् :-
1. संजि्त नाम और प्रारंभ.- (1) इन जनयमस का संजि् त नाम केन्द रीय मयार यान (प्रथम सिं यधन) जनयम, 2022 ह ।
(2) इन जनयमस में अन्द यथा उपबजं धत के जसवाय, ये रािपत्र म ेंइनके प्रकािन की तारीख स ेप्रवृत् त हसग े।
2. केन्द रीय मयार यान जनयम, 1989 में जनयम 125ग म,ें-

(क) उपजनयम (1) म ेंपरन्द तुक के प चात ् जन न जलजखत परन्द तकु अंत:स्ट्थ ाजपत दकया िाएगा, अथागत ् :-
“परन्दत ु यह और दक एआईएस-135 के उपबंध एआईएस-052 (आरईवी-1) में यथा जवजनर्ददष् ा ााइप-3 बसस कय लागू
हसगे, िय केन्द रीय मयार यान (प्रथम संियधन) जनयम, 2022 के प्रारंभ की तारीख से बारह मास के प चात ् ही जवजनर्वमत
की िाती ह ।” ;
(ख) उपजनयम (2) म ेंजन न जलजखत परन्द तुक अंत:स्ट्थ ाजपत दकया िाएगा, अथागत् :-
“परन्दत ु एआईएस-135 के अजधभयगी कि म ें अजन सरु िा के उपबंध एआईएस-063 में यथाजवजनर्ददष् ा बसस कय लाग ू
हसगे, िय केन्द रीय मयार यान (प्रथम संियधन) जनयम, 2022 के प्रारंभ की तारीख से बारह मास के प चात ् ही जवजनर्वमत
की िाती ह ।” ;
(ग) उपजनयम (7) म ेंसारणी 1 में क्रम संख् या 7 के प चात् जन न जलजखत क्रम संख् या अतं :स्ट् थाजपत की िाएगी, अथागत ् :-

NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 27th January, 2022
G.S.R. 48(E).—Whereas, the draft rules further to amend the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989
were published, as required under sub-section (1) of section 212 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 (59 of
1988), vide notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Road Transport and
Highways vide number G.S.R. 645(E), dated the 21st September, 2021, in the Gazette of India,
Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, sub-section (i), inviting objections and suggestions from all persons likely
to be affected thereby before the expiry of the period of thirty days from the date of which copies of the
Official Gazette containing the draft rules were made available to the public;
And whereas, copies of the said Gazette notification were made available to the public on the
21st September, 2021;
And whereas, objections and suggestions received from the public in respect of the said draft rules
have been considered by the Central Government;
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 110 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988
(59 of 1988), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Central Motor
Vehicles Rules, 1989, namely: -
1. Short Title and commencement.-(1) These rules may be called the Central Motor Vehicles (First
Amendment) Rules, 2022.
(2) Save as otherwise provided in these rules, they shall come into force on the date of their

2. In the Central Motor Vehicle Rules 1989, in rule 125C,-
(a) in sub-rule(1), after the proviso, the following proviso shall be inserted, namely:-
“Provided further that the provisions of AIS-135 shall be applicable to Type III buses, as specified in
AIS-052(Rev.1), which are manufactured on and after twelve months from the date of commencement of
the Central Motor Vehicles (First Amendment) Rules, 2022.”;
(b) in sub-rule(2), the following proviso shall be inserted, namely:-
“Provided that the provisions on fire protection in occupant compartment of AIS-135 shall be
applicable to school buses, as specified in AIS-063, which are manufactured on and after twelve
months from the date of commencement of the Central Motor Vehicles (First Amendment) Rules,
2022.”;
(c) in sub-rule (7), in Table 1, after Sr. No. 7, the following Sr. No. shall be inserted, namely:-
