Need for enhanced financial and infrastructure support for full
operationalisation of Kakatiya Mega Textile Park in Warangal,
Telangana.-laid
DR. KADIYAM KAVYA (WARANGAL): I wish to draw the
attention of the Government to the need for enhanced Central
incentives and policy support for the Kakatiya Mega Textile Park
(KMTP) in Warangal, Telangana. The park was established to
create an integrated textile value chain and generate large-scale
employment. Warangal has a strong cotton production base and
skilled workforce, positioning it as a potential textile and apparel
hub. However, the pace of private investment and establishment of
anchor units remains below potential. In view of increasing input
costs and intense competition in the textile sector, additional
Central support is essential to ensure the park achieves its
intended scale and employment targets. Consideration may be
given to extending or enhancing coverage under the Production
Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme, providing special fiscal or viability
gap support, strengthening assistance under the SAMARTH
Scheme for skill development, inclusion of park under expanded
PM MITRA or other cluster-based incentives, and enhancing export
promotion support. Targeted incentives will accelerate investment
inflow, attract anchor investors and boost employment for local
youth and women in Telangana. I therefore urge the Government
to grant additional fiscal and policy and infrastructure support to
ensure full operationalization of KMTP.
