Need for implementation of Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram
Utkarsh Abhiyan (DA-JGUA) in Palnadu District of Andhra
Pradesh- Laid
SHRI LAVU SRIKRISHNA DEVARAYALU (NARASARAOPET): I
would like to draw the attention of the Government to an important
issue concerning the implementation of the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya
Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DA?JGUA) scheme in Palnadu District of
Andhra Pradesh, which has nearly 18,000 Scheduled tribes. As
directed by the Secretary, Ministry of Tribal Affairs, in March 2025,
tribal habitations having a Scheduled Tribe population of 500 or
more and constituting at least fifty per cent of the total population
be considered for coverage under this scheme. Pursuant to this
direction, the Tribal Welfare Department of Andhra Pradesh
conducted a district-level assessment and identified 22 tribal
habitations in Palnadu District that fully satisfy the prescribed
eligibility criteria but are presently excluded from DA?JGUA. These
habitations are home to tribal communities, and their continued
exclusion adversely affects access to basic infrastructure, essential
services, and livelihood support envisaged under the scheme. I
respectfully urge the Hon?ble Minister to approve the inclusion of
these eligible habitations at the earliest, so that the objective of
equitable, inclusive, and evidence-based tribal development is
effectively realised. This timely intervention will ensure fairness and
better outcomes for tribal citizens.
