Need for investigation into substandard quality of construction on the stretch of NH 327E from Araria to Siliguri in Kishanganj District, Bihar-Laid DR. MOHAMMAD JAWED (KISHANGANJ): National Highway 327E connects Araria to Siliguri via Bahadurganj in Bihar's Kishanganj district. As a vital corridor linking Bihar with West Bengal and the North Eastern states, it carries heavy vehicular traffic throughout the year. Despite being completed only two to three years ago, the highway has already developed severe damage at several locations, particularly along the stretch passing through Kishanganj district. The rapid deterioration of such a recently constructed national highway raises serious concerns about the quality of construction. During the execution of the project, several complaints were made regarding the use of substandard materials and poor workmanship, but no corrective action was taken. Today, the damaged road has become a major cause of traffic congestion, frequent accidents, injuries, and loss of lives, while also imposing an unnecessary financial burden on the public exchequer. I, therefore, urge the Hon'ble Minister of Road Transport and Highways to immediately intervene, order a thorough technical inquiry into the quality of construction, ensure urgent repairs, and initiate strict action against all those responsible for the poor workmanship and negligence.
