Need for revival of Aska Spinning Mills in Ganjam, Odisha.-laid SHRIMATI ANITA SUBHADARSHINI (ASKA): I wish to highlight the distressing plight of the Aska Spinning Mill, which currently remains completely non-functional. The textile sector in this specific region holds immense potential to drive industrial development, attract capital investments, and create sustainable manufacturing jobs. The closure of Aska Spinning Mill deprived the local workforce of viable livelihoods and hindered the growth of secondary textile enterprises. Its immediate revival would provide much-needed employment to hundreds of skilled and semi-skilled local workers, while simultaneously strengthening the entire regional textile value chain from raw material processing to final production. I strongly urge the Minister of Textiles to formulate and initiate a time-bound revival plan to restart operations at the mill and restore this vital industrial asset. Reviving the Mill will not only enhance regional manufacturing but also empower the local communities by creating a stable industrial ecosystem preventing economic migration and promoting long-term economic independence.
