Need to set up a Day Care Cancer centre in the district
hospital of Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh-Laid
DR. BHOLA SINGH (BULANDSHAHR): I would like to place on
record my appreciation for the transformative strides made in the
healthcare sector. The expansion of Ayushman Bharat, the
strengthening of district-level healthcare infrastructure, the
establishment of new AIIMS, and the wide network of Jan
Aushadhi Kendras have significantly improved access to affordable
healthcare across the country. These initiatives have brought relief
and reassurance to millions of families. However, cancer cases are
increasing in the Bulandshahr Lok Sabha Constituency of Uttar
Pradesh. Patients, particularly from rural areas, are compelled to
travel to Delhi and other metropolitan cities for chemotherapy and
related treatment. This causes considerable physical hardship,
financial strain, and emotional distress to patients and their
families. Establishing a Day Care Cancer Centre in the district
hospital of Bulandshahr would provide timely treatment closer to
home, reduce out-of-pocket expenditure, and ease the burden on
tertiary hospitals. I, therefore, urge the Government to prioritise the
establishment of a Day Care Cancer Centre in Bulandshahr to
ensure accessible and affordable cancer care at the district level.
