S.O. 841(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by section 3 of the Public Premises (Eviction of
Unauthorised Occupants) Act, 1971 (40 of 1971), the Central Government hereby appoints the officers
mentioned in column (2) of the Table below, being officers of Rural Electrification Corporation Limited, a
statutory authority and equivalent to the rank of Gazetted Officer of the Government of India, to be the
Estate Officers for the purpose of the said Act, who shall exercise the powers conferred and perform the
duties imposed on Estate Officer by or under the said Act within the limits of his jurisdiction in respect of
