Objective and Scope
In response to specific operational requirements, the Central Government has authorized a change in the jurisdictional boundary between two major railway divisions on the Ranchi-Barkakana section.
Jurisdictional Changes
The boundary adjustment involves the following divisions:
South Eastern Railway: Ranchi division
East Central Railway: Dhanbad division

The jurisdictional boundary has been relocated as follows:
Existing Boundary: 198.918 Km
Revised Boundary: 198.515 Km (positioned towards Barkakana station)
Implementation
This change is mandated to take effect immediately from the date of the notification.

NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 13th August, 2026
No.2026/E&R/1(3)/3.—It is hereby notified for general information that keeping in view the
operational requirements, Central Government has decided to change the jurisdictional boundary between
Ranchi division of South Eastern Railway and Dhanbad division of East Central Railway from existing
198.918 Km to revised 198.515 Km towards Barkakana station on Ranchi-Barkakana section.
The above change will come into force with immediate effect.
