NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 9th September, 2024
S.O. 3847(E).—Whereas In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (a) of sub-section (1) of section 26
of the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, 1957 (67 of 1957) and in supersession of the
notifications of the Government of India, Ministry of Mines, published in the Gazette of India, vide number G.S.R.
860(E), dated the 16th December, 2021 and vide number S.O. 3890(E), dated the 1st September, 2023, except as
respects things done or omitted to be done before such supersession, the Central Government hereby directs that on
and from the date of publication of this notification in the Official Gazette, the powers of the Central Government
under the provisos to sub-sections (3) and (4) of section 10B, the provisos to sub-sections (4) and (5) of section 11
and section 11D of the said Act and under the Mineral (Auction) Rules, 2015, shall also be exercisable by
Smt. Farida M. Naik, Joint Secretary to the Government of India in the Ministry of Mines.
2. For the purposes of exercising the above said powers, the said officer shall be known as the “Designated
Officer”.
3. The said officer shall be bound by the written directions as may be given by the Central Government from time
to time.
