NTPC Western Region-I Headquarters organised the 23rd Regional Professional
Circle (RPC) Convention on 3rd February 2026 at its headquarters in Mumbai,
reaffirming NTPC’s commitment to innovation, efficiency and operational excellence.
The convention was inaugurated by E. Satya Phani Kumar, Regional Executive
Director (West-I), who underscored the critical role of Professional Circles in driving
continuous improvement across the organisation. He stated that innovation at NTPC
is not confined to technological advancement alone, but is driven by a mindset that
fosters creativity, collaboration, and excellence in all operational domains.
The event was evaluated by a distinguished jury, comprising P. A. Pandey, Former
Executive Director NTPC, Md. Ashfaq, Chief Executive Officer, NGEL, and Rajnish
Bhardwaj, Professor, IIT Bombay. The jury commended the participating teams for
their innovative ideas, analytical depth, and practical solutions to enhance
sustainability and operational efficiency.A total of 15 teams from various projects and stations of NTPC Western Region-I
(WR-I HQs, RGPPL, Kawas, Anta, Solapur, Jhanor and Mouda) participated in the
convention, presenting case studies and solutions focused on process optimisation,
efficiency enhancement, digital transformation, and energy transition.
First Prize was awarded to Team Srijan from NTPC WR-I Project, Mouda
Second Prize was secured by Team Anveshan from NTPC WR-I Project, Solapur
Team Innovation won Third Prize from NTPC WR-I Project, Mouda
Addressing the gathering, A. P. Samal emphasised the importance of structured
innovation platforms in strengthening organisational resilience. He stated,
“Professional Circles play a vital role in nurturing problem-solving capabilities and
technical excellence. Such forums enable teams to translate ideas into impactful
solutions, contributing meaningfully to safety, reliability, and long-term
sustainability.”
Speaking on the occasion, Vandana Chaturvedi highlighted the people-centric
dimension of Professional Circles. She remarked, “Professional Circles not only
encourage innovation but also foster teamwork, ownership, and leadership
development. They serve as a powerful tool for employee engagement and
continuous learning across the organisation.”
The convention witnessed the participation of all Heads of Departments (West-I)
and senior officials of WR-I Headquarters. In addition, Business Unit Heads from
WR-I projects and stations joined the event virtually, ensuring broad-based
participation and engagement across the region.
The 23rd Regional Professional Circle Convention provided an effective platform for
knowledge sharing, cross-functional learning, and collaborative problem-solving,
further strengthening NTPC’s pursuit of sustainable growth and competitiveexcellence in the power sector.
