Will the Minister of COMMUNICATIONS be pleased to state:
(a) the details and total number of uncovered villages identified under the 4G Saturation Project
to provide mobile connectivity across the country, State/UT and district-wise including particularly
in Hathras Lok Sabha Constituency of Uttar Pradesh, Palnadu district, Pali Lok Sabha Constituency,
Shahdol, Anuppur and Umaria district and Surguja Division;
(b) the details and number of mobile towers installed so far under the said project along with the
number of villages where 4G services have been started/provided Hathras district, Dahod Lok Sabha
Constituency, Shahdol Lok Sabha Constituency, Surguja Division;
(c) the details of total funds allocated and released for implementation of the said project since
its sanction;
(d) the timeframe fixed for completion of the said project particularly to provide 4G connectivity
in remaining rural areas;
(e) the steps taken by the Government to ensure speedy connectivity State and district-wise
including in rural remote and forested area, border and aspirational districts particularly in Kachchh
Lok Sabha Constituency and Surguja Division, Planadu district and Pali Lok Sabha Constituency;
(f) whether the Government has any scheme in place to ensure high speed internet connectivity
to Government schools, Health Centres and Gram Panchayat Buildings;
(g) the total funds allocated and released for implementation of the project since its approval and
timeline fixed for completion of the project; and
1(h) the steps taken by the Ministry to expedite mobile connectivity in remote, border and
aspirational districts, particularly in underserved areas of Andhra Pradesh including Palnadu district?
ANSWER

(a) to (e) & (h) Government has approved 4G Saturation Project to provide 4G mobile
connectivity in uncovered villages across country including villages in border area and aspirational
districts. As on 28.02.2026, 14,301 towers have been made on-air under this project, which has
covered 21,384 villages. As on 28.02.2026, total funds disbursed under 4G Saturation Project is Rs.
9417.88 crore. State-wise, number of mobile towers sanctioned, on-air towers and villages covered
under this project, as on 28.02.2026, is available on Digital Bharat Nidhi (DBN) website
(https://usof.gov.in/en/home).
Status of 4G Saturation Project, in Hathras Lok Sabha Constituency - Uttar Pradesh, Palnadu
District - Andhra Pradesh, Pali Lok Sabha Constituency - Rajasthan, Anuppur, Sahdol and Umaria
Districts - Madhya Pradesh, Surguja Division - Chhattisgarh, Dahod and Kachchh Lok Sabha
Constituencies - Gujarat, is available on DBN website (https://usof.gov.in/en/home).
(f) & (g) BharatNet program, which has been funded through DBN, has a mandate to provide
broadband connectivity to all Gram Panchayats (GPs). The Amended BharatNet Program (ABP),
approved on 04.08.2023, has provision to utilise the BharatNet network, including approximately
1.5 crore fiber to the home (FTTH) connections across all States/UTs with priority to cover
Government institutions including schools, Primary Health Centers, Anganwadis, Panchayat offices
etc. over five years. As on 28.02.2026, total funds disbursed under BharatNet Project is Rs. 48,372.50
crore.
