MANJU SHARMA: Will the Minister of COMMUNICATIONS be pleased to state: (a) the details of 5G service providers in the country; (b) the company-wise steps taken/being taken by the Government in public interest regarding the increase in the rates of small recharge coupons by 5G service provider companies without any prior notice; (c) whether any mechanism has been developed by the Government to regulate these service providers; and (d) if so, the details thereof? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE FOR COMMUNICATIONS AND RURAL DEVELOPMENT (DR. PEMMASANI CHANDRA SEKHAR) (a) Presently, 5G services are being provided by Airtel, Jio and Vodafone Idea (VI) across the country. (b) to (d) As per the provision of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) Act, 1997, the rates at which the telecommunication services being provided by the Telecom Service Providers are regulated by TRAI. As per the extant regulatory framework notified by TRAI, tariff, including rates and related conditions, is under forbearance except for national roaming, rural fixed line services , leased circuits and mobile number portability. ***** 1
