Parliament Question: Activities and programmes for youth registered on My Bharat

GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF YOUTH AFFAIRS & SPORTS DEPARTMENT OF YOUTH AFFAIRS RAJYA SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO-152 ANSWERED ON- 29/01/2026 ACTIVITIES AND PROGRAMMES FOR YOUTH REGISTERED ON MY BHARAT 152. SHRI MAYANKKUMAR NAYAK: Will the Minister of YOUTH AFFAIRS AND SPORTS be pleased to state: (a) the number of youth registered on MY Bharat platform; (b) the major categories of activities and nation-building programmes undertaken by these youth volunteers; (c) the training, certification and skill-development support provided to participating youth; (d) whether these platforms are being linked with employment, entrepreneurship and higher- education opportunities; and (e) if so, the details thereof? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF YOUTH AFFAIRS & SPORTS (DR. MANSUKH MANDAVIYA) (a) As on 23.01.2026 a total registration of the MY Bharat portal is 2,07,00,666. (b) to (e) MY Bharat ( https://mybharat.gov.in/ ) functions as a comprehensive youth engagement and participation platform encompassing major nation-building programmes such as Experiential Learning Programmes (ELPs), Volunteering Opportunities (VOs) and Mega Events, under which there are various categories of activities where youth can participate, and participating Ministries, organizations, institutions and youth clubs can also add and host activities on their own; the platform facilitates creation of youth profiles, participation in volunteering and experiential learning activities, expert mentorship, networking, and features like quizzes, essay writing and CV building, thereby providing exposure, basic training, orientation and informal certification through participation, which helps youth develop soft skills, civic understanding and employability-related competencies, while also enabling access to information on scholarships and higher education. MY Bharat is not a dedicated skill development or employment portal, it is linked to employment, entrepreneurship and higher-education opportunities in the sense that partner organizations host relevant programmes and opportunities on the platform, with the reporting framework capturing registrations, activities, partner onboarding and participation levels.
