(a) the total number of Electric Vehicles (EVs) registered in the
country during the last two years, State-wise including Gujarat;
(b) the details of public EV charging stations installed across the
country, State-wise including Gujarat; and
(c) whether the Government is providing any incentives/subsidies to
citizens for the adoption of EVs and if so, the details thereof?

(a) The list of total number of Electric Vehicles (EVs) registered in
the country during the last two years, State-wise except the state of
Telangana is enclosed as ANNEXURE I. The data of the State of
Telangana is not onboarded to the VAHAN database as on date.
(b) As per information received from Bureau of Energy Efficiency
(BEE) as on 01.08.2025, a total of 29,277 Public EV ChargingStations have been installed in the country. State-wise break up of
Public EV Charging Stations is enclosed at ANNEXURE II.
(c) The Government in the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways
has taken following initiatives to promote adoption of Electric
Vehicles (EVs) in the country:
(i) Notification issued vide S.O. 5333(E) dated the 18th October,
2018 to grant exemption from the requirements of the permit to
the battery operated transport vehicles.
(ii) Notification issued vide G.S.R. 525(E) dated the 2nd August,
2021 to grant exemption of Battery Operated Vehicles from
payment of fees for the purpose of issue or renewal of registration
certificate and assignment of new registration mark.
(iii) Notification issued vide G.S.R. 302(E) dated the 18th April,
2023 to grant All India Tourist Permit for battery-operated vehicles
without payment of permit fee.
The following schemes have been implemented by the Government
in the Ministry of Heavy Industries for providing incentives/subsidies
to citizens for the adoption of EVs:
(i) Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of (Hybrid &) Electric
Vehicles in India (FAME India) Scheme Phase-II: The
Government implemented this scheme for a period of five years
from 1st April, 2019 to 31st March, 2024 with a total budgetary
support of Rs.11,500 crore out of which an amount of Rs.7,048
crore was allocated towards demand incentive to buyers of e-
2Ws, e-3Ws and e-4Ws.
(ii) PM Electric Drive Revolution in Innovative Vehicle
Enhancement (PM E- DRIVE) Scheme: This scheme with an
outlay of Rs.10,900 crore is being implemented and is available
upto 31.03.2026. An allocation of Rs. 3,679 crore has been
made under the scheme towards demand incentive for e-2W, e-
