ANSWER
Minister of State in the Ministry of CIVIL AVIATION
(Shri Murlidhar Mohol)
(a) to (c) International air cargo terminal at Tiruchirappalli International Airport
has been established by AAI Cargo Logistics and Allied Services Company
Limited (AAICLAS), a subsidiary of Airport Authority of India. Internal
infrastructure has also been installed to facilitate the commencement of
international courier operations. AAICLAS is taking steps for operationalisation
of the terminal and has examined various options with a view to expediting the
operationalisation of the facility at the said airport. However this is contingent
upon various factors such as demand from courier trade agencies, commercial
viability, response from stakeholders and the operating model adopted.
