ANSWER
Minister of State in the Ministry of CIVIL AVIATION
(Shri Murlidhar Mohol)
(a) to (d): Under the Regional Connectivity Scheme - Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik
(RCS-UDAN), Kadapa and Kurnool airports have been operationalised in the State
of Andhra Pradesh.
The year-wise passenger traffic handled at these airports during the last five years,
along with the present scheduled commercial flight services, including the
destinations connected and frequency of services, are at Annexure.
The Government has launched the next phase of the UDAN Scheme on 04.07.2026
to further enhance regional air connectivity across the country, connect 120 new
destinations, and serve 4 crore passengers over the next 10 years. Further, the
Government of Andhra Pradesh may identify and propose State Priority Routes forinclusion in the bidding process, based on regional connectivity requirements,
passenger demand and operational feasibility.
Further, with the repeal of the Air Corporations Act in March 1994, the Indian
domestic aviation has been deregulated. Airlines are free to induct capacity with
any aircraft type, free to select whatever markets and network they wish to service
depending on their operational & commercial viability.
