GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF CIVIL AVIATION LOK SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. : 1905 ( TO BE ANSWERED ON THE 30th July 2026 ) AIR PASSENGER TRAFFIC UNDER UDAN SCHEME 1905. SHRI PUTTA MAHESH KUMAR Will the Minister of CIVIL AVIATION be pleased to state:- (a) the details of air passenger traffic handled at airports operating under the Regional Connectivity Scheme-UDAN in Andhra Pradesh during the last five years, year and airport-wise; (b) the details of the passenger handling capacity, actual passenger traffic and capacity utilisation of the said airports, airport-wise; (c) the details of scheduled commercial flight services currently operating from such airports including the number of routes, frequency of services and destinations connected; and (d) the measures taken by the Government to improve passenger traffic, route viability and utilisation of airports developed under the UDAN Scheme in Andhra Pradesh including any proposals for introduction of additional routes or services? ANSWER Minister of State in the Ministry of CIVIL AVIATION (Shri Murlidhar Mohol) (a) to (d): Under the Regional Connectivity Scheme - Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik (RCS-UDAN), Kadapa and Kurnool airports have been operationalised in the State of Andhra Pradesh. The year-wise passenger traffic handled at these airports during the last five years, along with the present scheduled commercial flight services, including the destinations connected and frequency of services, are at Annexure. The Government has launched the next phase of the UDAN Scheme on 04.07.2026 to further enhance regional air connectivity across the country, connect 120 new destinations, and serve 4 crore passengers over the next 10 years. Further, the Government of Andhra Pradesh may identify and propose State Priority Routes forinclusion in the bidding process, based on regional connectivity requirements, passenger demand and operational feasibility. Further, with the repeal of the Air Corporations Act in March 1994, the Indian domestic aviation has been deregulated.
