JOHN BRITTAS: Will the Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution be pleased to state (a) : the quantity of rice and broken rice allocated or sold by the Food Corporation of India (FCI) in open market as well as for ethanol production for biofuel during the last five years, year-wIse; (b): the average annual price per kilogram for such sales to States, open market and for ethanol production, category-wise; (c): the total revenue generated from these sales during last five years, category-wise; and (d): the details of States that have requested permission to utilise surplus/unutilised portion of allocated rice or to increase the tide over allocation offoodgrains during the last five years? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE FOR MINISTRY OF CONSUMER AFFAIRS, FOOD & PUBLIC DISTRIBUTION (SHRIMATI NIMUBEN JAYANTIBHAI BAMBHANIYA) (a): The year-wise details of the quantity of rice and broken rice sold by Food Corporation of India (FCI) in open market as well as for ethanol production for biofuel during the last five years, under OMSS (D) is at Annexure-l. (b): The details of the average annual price per kilogram for such sales to States, open market and for ethanol production, category-wise is at Annexure-II. (c): The details of the total revenue generated from these sales during last five years, category- wise is at Annexure-III. (d): As and when requests are received from States/UTs for revision of foodgrains allocation under the National Food Security Act and Tide -Over Category on account of addition/deletion of new beneficiaries, within the ceiling of beneficiaries determined for that State/UT, the same are examined and revised allocation orders are issued as per the extant policy. ##888ANNEXURE-I ANNEXURE REFERRED TO IN REPLY TO (a) OF THE UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. 2751 FOR ANSWER ON 17.03.2026 IN THE RAJYA SABHA.
