ALLOCATION FOR KOCHI-BENGALURU INDUSTRIAL CORRIDOR / PALAKKAD INDUSTRIAL SMART CITY 853. SMT. JEBI MATHER HISHAM: Will the Minister of Commerce and Industry be pleased to state: (a) the total allocation for the Kochi-Bengaluru Industrial Corridor (KBIC), particularly the Palakkad Industrial Smart City and how much central funding has been released to Kerala so far; (b) the current status of the Industrial Manufacturing Cluster (IMC) at Palakkad and its implementation progress; (c) the land acquisition details for the IMC project, including extent acquired, cost, pending cases and rehabilitation measures; (d) whether the proposed Global City at Ayyampuzha (Kochi) has been included in KBIC, if so, the approval status, and if not, the reasons therefor; and (e) list industrial corridors under the National Infrastructure Pipeline with total allocations and present project-wise status? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MIN ISTRY OF COMMERCE & INDUSTRY (SHRI JITIN PRASADA) (a): As part of the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme (NICDP), the Government of India has approved the development of Integrated Manufacturing Cluster (IMC) at Palakkad in Kerala under the Kochi-Bengaluru Industrial Corridor (extension of the Chennai Bengaluru Industrial Corridor) for an area of 1,710 acres with a total project cost of Rs. 3,806 crores on 28th Aug 2024. As of 20th Jan 2026, State Government has transferred 646 acres of land to project Special Purpose Vehicle- Kerala Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (KICDC)- and matching equity amounting to Rs. 616.20 crore has been released by National Industrial Corridor Development and Implementation Trust (NICDIT); (b): The Project Manager for New Cities (PMNC) has been appointed and the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction contract has been awarded. (c): The Palakkad node is being implemented in two (2) phases. As informed by the Government of Kerala, approximately 92% of the land for Phase-I (Pudussery Central and Kannambra), admeasuring 1,343 acres out of a total of 1,461 acres, is in possession.For the land acquisition for Phase-II, the Section 11(1) notification under Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013 has been issued by the Government of Kerala. (d): Development of Global City at Ayyampuzha (Kochi) is not envisaged under National Industrial Corridor Development Programme (NICDP). (e): As part of NICDP, Government of India has approved 20 industrial corridor projects across 13 states along 7 industrial corridors.
