(c) the steps takentoensure timely utilisationof funds andcompletionof newAIIMS projects? ANSWER THE MINISTER OFSTATE INTHE MINISTRYOFHEALTH ANDFAMILYWELFARE (SHRIPRATAPRAO JADHAV)
(a) and (b) The Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY) aims to correct regional imbalances in the availability of affordable/reliable tertiary healthcare services and also to augment facilities for quality medical education in the country. The scheme has two components, (i) setting up of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and (ii) upgradation of existing Government Medical Colleges/Institutions (GMCIs). Till date establishment of 22 new AIIMSs and upgradation of 75GMCs hasbeenapprovedunder the scheme.

9536.00 9472.10 2024-25(c) In order to ensure timely and effective utilisation of funds under the scheme, regular monitoring of operationalisation/functioning of newAIIMS and review of physical and financial progress of the construction of new AIIMS is undertaken with the Executive Directors (EDs), Executing Agencies (EAs), Procurement Support Agencies (PSAs) and other stakeholders at variouslevelsinthe Ministry.
