Parliament Question: Allocation of Funds under Central Schemes in Gwalior

GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF TOURISM LOK SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO.†5847 ANSWERED ON 30.03.2026 ALLOCATION OF FUNDS UNDER CENTRAL SCHEMES IN GWALIOR †5847. SHRI BHARAT SINGH KUSHWAH: Will the Minister of TOURISM be pleased to state: (a) the details of funds allocated to the Gwalior Lok Sabha Constituency under various Central Schemes of the Government from the year 2022- 23 to till date, year and scheme-wise; (b) the actual amount utilised in the said Constituency during the said period; (c) the reasons for the slow physical and financial progress compared to the funds allocated under the aforementioned schemes; and (d) the details of steps taken/being taken by the Government to ensure maximum and time-bound utilisation of funds? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF TOURISM (SHRI GAJENDRA SINGH SHEKHAWAT) (a) to (d): Development and promotion of tourist destinations and tourism products is primarily undertaken by the concerned State Governments/UT Administrations. However, the Ministry of Tourism through its central sector schemes of ‘Swadesh Darshan (SD)’, Swadesh Darshan 2.0 (SD2.0), ‘Challenge Based Destination Development (CBDD)’ – a sub-scheme of Swadesh Darshan and ‘Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual, Heritage Augmentation Drive (PRASHAD)’ complements the efforts of State Governments/UT Administrations in their tourism infrastructure development including last-mile connectivity to destinations and amenities across the country at tourist destinations including the destinations of Gwalior Lok Sabha Constituency by extending financial assistance to the State Governments/UT Administrations.
