SHRI BHUMARE SANDIPANRAO ASARAM: SHRI GYANESHWAR PATIL: Will the Minister of ENVIRONMENT, FOREST AND CLIMATE CHANGE be pleased to state: (a) whether the Government has implemented schemes such as the National Afforestation Programme, Green India Mission, Integrated Development of Wildlife Habitats, Projects Tiger, and the Climate Change Action Plan in various States of the country particularly in Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh; (b) if so, the details thereof along with the funds allocated, released and utilised under each of these schemes during the last five years, year and scheme-wise; (c) the details of work undertaken, under the each of the said Schemes in the States of Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh, district-wise; (d) the number of employment opportunities generated and the number of beneficiaries covered under these schemes in the said States; and (e) the details of implementing agencies and forest divisions involved in the implementation of the said programmes? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF ENVIRONMENT, FOREST AND CLIMATE CHANGE (SHRI KIRTI VARDHAN SINGH) (a) & (b) The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC) implements various Centrally Sponsored and Central Sector Schemes across the country, including Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh, for conservation of forests, wildlife and climate change. These include the National Mission for a Green India (GIM), Integrated Development of Wildlife Habitats (IDWH), Project Tiger through the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA), and the National Action Plan on Climate Change (NAPCC). The National Afforestation Programme (NAP) has been subsumed under GIM since 2018. These schemes are implemented as per the approved operational guidelines and Annual Plans of Operation. The year-wise details of funds allocated, released and utilized are given at Annexure-I. The schemes support activities such as afforestation, eco-restoration, soil and (c) to (e) moisture conservation, nursery development, habitat improvement, wildlife protection, anti-poaching measures, eco-development, voluntary relocation from critical wildlife habitats, human-wildlife conflict mitigation, protection infrastructure, strengthening of frontline staff, and implementation of adaptationand mitigation activities under NAPCC. They are implemented by the respective State Governments through their Forest Departments and other designated agencies.
